ISO 6344-2:2021(EN) Coated abrasives — Determination and designation of grain size distribution — Part 2: Macrogrit sizes P12 to P220

ISO 6344-2:2021 was created by Technical Committee ISO/TC 29, Small tools, Subcommittee SC 5, Grinding wheels and abrasives.
ISO 6344-2:2021, the second edition cancels and replaces ISO 6344-2:1998 and ISO 6344-1:1998, which have been technically revised.
The main changes compared to earlier versions are as follows:
— The title and the scope have been changed editorially;
— Relevant content of ISO 6344-1:1998 has been updated and transferred to ISO 6344-2:2021 and ISO 6344-3;
— references to ISO 6344-1:1998 have been deleted;
— “Terms and definitions” has been updated;
— a new Clause 4 for macro grit sizes has been added;
— “Evaluation” has been revised by giving a normative description of the procedure for the determination of a sieving analysis and evaluation of the results;
— “Marking” has been revised.
ISO 6344-2:2021 defines a method for determining and testing the grain size distribution of electro-fused aluminum oxide and silicon carbide macro grit sizes P12 to P220 for coated abrasive products.
ISO 6344-2:2021 applicable to grits used in the manufacture of coated abrasive products and to grits extracted from coated abrasive products for test purposes.

ISO 6344-3:2021(EN) Coated abrasives — Determination and designation of grain size distribution — Part 3: Microgrit sizes P240 to P5000
ISO 6344-3:2021 specifies a method for determining and testing the grain size distribution of electro-fused aluminium oxide and silicon carbide microgrit sizes P240 to P5000 for coated abrasive products.
ISO 6344-3:2021 applicable to grits used in the manufacture of coated abrasive products and to grits extracted from coated abrasive products for test purposes.
