    ISO 14064

ISO 14064 is a set of standards for the identification of electronic resources. It was first published in 1998 and has been revised several times since then. As the world moves towards an ever-growing digital age, ISO 14064 is becoming more and more important as it helps to ensure that digital content is properly identified and can be easily found by users.

ISO 14064-1:2018 Greenhouse gases — Part 1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals

This blog post provides an overview of ISO 14064-1:2018, the most recent edition of the ISO standards for greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and reporting. ISO 14064-1:2018 includes updated guidance on how to quantify and report GHG emissions and removals from industrial plants, commercial vehicles, shipping, agricultural production and other activities.

The main changes in ISO 14064-1:2018 relative to previous editions are the following:

-A new chapter on “Operational quantification and reporting” introduces a new approach to measuring GHG emissions at the organizational level. This approach relies on forecasting data and incorporates lessons learned from recent experience with verification. The chapter discusses methods for data collection, estimation and validation of emissions inventories, and analysis of GHG emission trends.

-ISO 14064-1 now provides guidance on how to account for indirect emissions (from upstream activities that result in GHG emissions). Indirect emissions can have a significant impact on overall emissions levels, so they must be taken into account when planning GHG reduction efforts.

-ISO 14064-1 now includes guidance on calculating GHG removals from industrial processes using both batch measurement techniques (such

ISO 14064-2:2019 Greenhouse gases — Part 2: Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements

ISO 14064-2:2019 provides guidance on how to quantify, monitor and report greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements under a project scope. It includes provisions on quantifying emissions from activities, estimating reductions in emissions from project activities and verifying emission reductions.

Projects that are seeking an ISO 14064-2 certification must undergo an assessment to determine if the application is compliant with ISO 14064-2:2019. The assessment process takes into account the type of project, the geographical location, the target audience, and any applicable regulatory requirements.

ISO 14064-3:2019 Greenhouse gases — Part 3: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements

ISO 14064-3:2019 Greenhouse gases — Part 3: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements is a set of standards that provide guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements. The document includes provisions for the identification of greenhouse gases, their quantification, and verification of their emissions. It also provides guidance on the use of models to simulate atmospheric gas exchange and climate change.

The ISO 14064 series provides a comprehensive framework for the assessment and management of environmental risks. This series includes standards that cover a wide range of topics, such as water resources, air quality, hazardous materials, and marine environment.

ISO 14064-3:2019 Greenhouse gases — Part 3: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements is an important standard that helps ensure that greenhouse gas statements are accurate and reliable. By complying with this standard, businesses can reduce their environmental risk exposure and improve their overall sustainability profile.
